Conclusion

Pro-social Content

On "Full Circle" love has a chance when people "meet in the middle ... put pride aside." Torn by a breakup, a girl is able to recall the guy's virtues even as she enumerates "7 Things" he did that drove her nuts. After another split, she's mature and benevolent toward her ex ("Bottom of the Ocean"). "Wake Up America" tells fans and their parents to take better care of the environment. Despite a taunting, teasing tone, Miley advocates straightforward communication and assures a boy that she keeps her promises ("Fly on the Wall"). Deafened by the din of pop star insanity, the stressed-out 15-year-old yearns for peace, sanctuary and a "Simple Song."

Objectionable Content

The title cut whines about school and parents with Cyrus opting to party, "lose control" and "get into messes" with friends. Her folks get a glib explanation for her staying out all night on "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." "Goodbye" and "7 Things" mention kissing. The latter also talks of being "intertwined" with a boy. "The Driveway" implies that kissing a date in his car after midnight is normal for a girl her age. "See You Again" winks at reincarnation.

Summary Advisory

Some good stuff, but winds of change are blowing. Mild rebellion and more physical affection make Mileymania a bigger gamble for families with preteens.
