Pro-social Content

Seeing a Christian disc perform so well on the pop chart might lead one to wonder how bold it is. Very bold! Franklin honors Jesus as his Lord and waits breathlessly for His return ("Caught Up"). "Hosanna" speaks of His sacrifice at Calvary ("The price You paid gives us life brand new/Hosanna forever, we worship You . . . the Lamb that was slain for my sins"). Similarly, "Brighter Day" and "My Life, My Love, My All" are deeply felt love songs to the Savior. As if standing outside the empty tomb, the singer testifies that He is risen on "Don’t Cry." "911" features a conversation with Bishop T.D. Jakes about God’s presence amid tragedy. Other tracks condemn racism in the church ("The Blood Song"), anticipate a heavenly encounter ("When I Get There") and celebrate a caring God ("Lookin’ Out for Me").
